Book Club

This page is an EASTER EGG. (Or at least it is until we figure out how to force the website minions to start doing what we want.) Congratulations on finding it! You do not win a prize, but you will get some valuable information.

AggieCon takes over Pleiades Cluster!

Efrain and Lola (Guest Relations and Programming Directors respectively) have usurped the use of Cepheid's book club otherwise known as the Pleiades Cluster. They will be leading monthly discussions of books and/or short stories written by our guests in an effort to help everyone get to know them better before Con rolls around.

-------------------------------

Interrupting your regularly scheduled programming, a public service announcement about the Pleiades Cluster. The Pleiades Cluster, also known as the seven sisters from Greek Mythology, are an open star cluster in the constellation Taurus. It is among the nearest star clusters to Earth and is the cluster most obvious to the naked eye in the night sky. Pleiades is accepted as meaning multitude, and as such we expect a multitude of people to participate in our awesome book club.

-------------------------------

For the month of September we will be reading Jumper, by Steven Gould. (Mr. Gould is a fellow Aggie. He told us that AggieCon IV was the first science fiction/fantasy convention he ever attended and subsequently he had the privilege of chairing AggieCon V. We fully accept credit for being the jump-start to his successful career.) (Also you just got a clue about our writer guest of honor! Lucky you.)

The discussion time and location is tbd. Email aggieconprogramming@gmail.com if you have questions or suggestions for future selections.

-------------------------------

Also very important to note! At AggieCon we will be having a contest where all of the questions are about what we've suggested you read over the next few months. The more you read, the better chance you have of winning an actual prize!
